Sell your gun to us, or trade it against ours

No advertising fees, no strangers coming to your house, no waiting for a private buyer who never turns up. We buy guns outright and take them in part exchange every week, and we will tell you honestly what yours is worth — including when the answer is “less than you were hoping”.

Tell us what you have

The more you tell us, the closer the figure. Photographs are optional but they make a real difference — a gun with good pictures usually gets a tighter, higher range.

What happens next

1. You send us the details
Make, model, gauge or calibre, barrel length and an honest account of the condition, with up to eight photographs. Pictures of the action from both sides, the stock, the barrels and the proof marks tell us most of what we need.
2. We come back with a ballpark figure by email
Usually within one working day. It will be a range, not a single number, because we have not held the gun. We will also tell you whether we would rather buy it outright or take it in part exchange, and roughly what it would make on the rack.
3. You bring it in and we give you a firm price
The firm figure only happens with the gun in our hands, on the bench, with the barrels measured and the action checked. If the gun is as described, the figure will land inside the range we gave you. If it is better than you thought, the figure goes up — that happens more often than people expect.
4. Paid the same day, or straight off the price of your next gun
Bank transfer while you are stood at the counter for an outright purchase, or straight off the ticket price of anything in the gun room for a part exchange. Bring your certificate: we cannot complete a transfer without seeing the original.

Being straight about the money

A dealer buys to sell. What we offer is below what the gun will eventually retail for, because we carry the cost of servicing it, the risk if it does not sell, and the warranty when it does. Anyone telling you otherwise is not being honest with you.

Part exchange nearly always nets you more than an outright sale, because we can be keener on the trade-in when there is a gun going the other way. If you are undecided, tell us and we will quote you both figures.

Condition moves the number more than anything else. Thin walls, dents, pitting, being off the face, a re-stock or a sleeve without reproof can halve a value. We will show you what we find rather than just quoting a lower figure.
