Air Rifles for sale — new and used
Pre-charged and spring-powered air rifles for HFT, hunting and back-garden practice, all under the 12 ft/lb legal limit. We test every used air rifle over the chronograph before it goes on the shelf and list the figure, so you know what you are buying rather than what the box claims.
You must be 18 or over to buy an air rifle, and it must be handed to you in person here at the shop — air weapons cannot be sent by post or courier to a private address. No certificate is required for a sub-12 ft/lb air rifle in England and Wales, but proof of age and address will be asked for.

Air rifle law in plain terms
A rifle producing not more than 12 ft/lb of muzzle energy is not a Section 1 firearm in England and Wales, so no certificate is needed to own one, but the law around age, sale and use is strict. It is an offence to sell an air weapon to anyone under 18, and since 2011 air weapons must be handed over face to face by a registered firearms dealer rather than posted. Under-18s may borrow and shoot one under the supervision of someone over 21 on private land with permission.
You are also required to keep an air rifle secure so that a person under 18 cannot get hold of it unsupervised. We sell cabinets and cases and can advise on what is reasonable for your circumstances.
Choosing between PCP and springer
A pre-charged rifle is easier to shoot well — no recoil, a light cocking stroke and consistent velocity across a fill — but it needs a bottle or pump behind it. We fill bottles in the shop and can set you up with a 300 bar cylinder and a fill adaptor at the same time.
A spring rifle needs no support at all and will still be shooting in twenty years, at the cost of a firmer cycle that punishes poor technique. If you are buying for a young shot or for occasional pest control around buildings, a break barrel in .22 is often the more sensible gun.
